G’day everyone,
Well it seems as if my brother has woken up after a long spell of laziness only to be more lazy!! 😉

Today I went and saw ‘National Treasure’ at the movies with my lovely wife. It was a great movie, no unecessary indecency, just a pretty good (but I must admit unrealistic) plot, and plenty of action. Its a great one to go and see, we actually both enjoyed it.

And something to think about. It is a thought that John Piper often writes about…

God is the only being for whom to give the best love possible is self exultation. That is, tha God is the only being that shows love the most, by making himself look good. The reasoning is this.
– God is the greatest most wonderful treasure in the world.
– The best love then, can be shown by us, by showing those we are loving, how great God actually is, not simply trying to make people think that they themselves are ok, or great, or give thier self-of-steem a bump up a notch.
– For God to best love us then, he must show himself to us as great and mighty and a treasure beyond everything else. This is exactly the kind of love he shows us in the great and marvelous treasure of Jesus Christ.

Do you catch my drift. Gods love is making himself look good to us. And so should our love be to others to make God look good. He is the ultimate treasure, where all satisfaction and life peace and joy is to be found. Let us love people with a great love and introduce them to our wonderful God, our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Signing off. Geoff

The night before last I had the pleasure of talking to my lovely parents. Isn’t it great when they both have two separate phones but are on the same phoneline so you can talk to them both at once. Fantastic I say. Ahh.. this modern technology. What will they think of next? Mabye some sort of spring loaded bread cooking machine… Who knows…

I have been reading the book “Seeing with New Eyes” by “David Powlison”. An interesting thought presented in that book is this. Just how good is the word “unconditional” at describing the way that God loves us? Sure it can be used to mean alot of true and good things about Gods love, for example that God will never give up on us. But when you really think about it, there are conditions on Gods love. The condition of God being able to love me, and you, is that Jesus died. Describing Gods love as unconditional tends to let us think that God is not about changing us (which is not true), rather, just loving us as we are (which is not entirely untrue).

I think, like David Powlison, that Gods love is indeed “better than unconditional”, it was a love that will go the hard yards to make us more like Christ, a love that involved tremendous sacrifice, not just an empty tolerance of those us in the fallen human race.

It’s something to have a think about anyway.

Great days all round!!
Both myself and my brother (the other excitedly happy blogger) have had tremendously great days today, his because of english, and mine because of that fact that I got some more programming to do over the holidays!! Yay!

Have you ever thought of the difference between knowing about God, and actually knowing God? hmmm.. theres a thought….

You might have noticed to the right, the slab of google add’s. These should be a help both to you and to me. To me, hopefully to get some funding for the site to help make it better. And for you because the add’s that come up should be relevant to what my brother (the excitedly happy one) and I blog about. That will make for a more delicious “Bloggin Bro’s” experience for you all.

Today was just another working saturday. Schoolies is on now on the South eastern coast of NSW. There are lots of school leavers down there from QLD, NSW and all over australia actually. It can get pretty rough so prayers for safety of all there are much needed.

If you want to see anything else on this bloggin site then go for it. I have got ideas, hopefully I will be able to put up a poll soon. Should be great!
