My cool sister made me an awesome spartan beanie! Here it is, I am trying to pull my “noble warrior” face. Not sure whether or not I can pull that face properly yet. I’ll keep working on it.
Thanks Suz! Much appreciated! Very Awesome!

I have church camp coming up. Not in tents unfortunately (its always more of a getaway in a tent), but I am looking forward to it all the same.
I wish I could use one of these bad boys, but… no tents on camp, and no shipping to AUS. Sadface.

Jesus being referred to as the Son of God more often appears as a concept than an actual title. It does get used as a name, particularly by the demons actually, but it doesn’t always appear as the phrase “son of God“ but often appears as the Son (Jesus) talking of his relationship with his Father.
It’s a relational reference, not a biological one. There are a couple of ways this can be seen;
But Jesus answered them, “My Father is working until now, and I am working.” – John 5:17
And now, Father, glorify me in your own presence with the glory that I had with you before the world existed. – John 17:5
I and the Father are one. – John 10:30
Father, I desire that they also, whom you have given me, may be with me where I am, to see my glory that you have given me because you loved me before the foundation of the world. – John 17:24
just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep. – John 10:15
Not purely a relational reference, but also a functional one showing how the Son and the Father work together in the gospel. This can be seen in one main way;
Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on my own authority, but the Father who dwells in me does his works. – John 14:10
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. – John 14:6
Satan and his demons seems to know it well, they refer to him as the “Son of God”, having power or status that others didn’t have in their realm/view. (see Matthew 4:3 and Matthew 8:29)
And the tempter came and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command these stones to become loaves of bread.” – Matthew 4:3
And behold, they cried out, “What have you to do with us, O Son of God? Have you come here to torment us before the time?” – Matthew 8:29
Use of the name “Son of God” or the “God’s son” concept certainly emphasises Jesus’ uniqueness and divinity. He is unlike any other due to his closeness with the Father and the role he plays in the Father’s plans. That Satan seems to have educated his demon’s about the Son also emphasises and suggests his divinity and power in the heavenly realm.
I haven’t had much to do with reading this man’s books and I don’t know his theology. But hearing this snippet of his sermon has challenged me to prayer again. You can feel his heart. Oh what would happen if we were to pray from our longings for God’s will deep inside. Now is the time.
