This coming Friday marks the end of my “40 goals in 40 weeks”! Since one of my goals was to “get rid of my ex-demo Tupperware”, I thought it would be fun to giveaway some of the remaining Tupperware keyrings I have to celebrate the end of this “40 goals in 40 weeks” journey!

They’re very popular, and often sought after… so here’s your opportunity to get your hands on some exclusive keyrings! It’s so easy to enter, there’s multiple opportunities to win, and the giveaway is only open for few days so there won’t be many entries! Get in quick – you’ve got a really good chance of winning!

Family Night: Dreamworks at Dreamworld

When I wrote up my goals roughly 8 months ago, one of the things I wanted to incorporate was time together with my husband and my family. I wanted to have quality time together, and do some new things that we haven’t done before. We’ve been working at this over the past 8 months and had some fun outings together, but it has been a bit of struggle at times. So when were invited to come and checkout the new Dreamworks Experience at Dreamworld, hubby and I were both a little excited.

Our often shy and timid B1 had never been on any rides, or to any Theme park, so we were hoping he would be brave and have a fabulous time. The day before, we sat him down to watch Shrek so he would recognise the big Ogre! We got him all pumped up, and he was super-excited.

When we arrived, we watched the Tower of Terror and other ‘scary’ rides we could see. We reassured B1 we would only take him on safe rides he would like. He enjoyed watching the ‘scary’ ones though, and was so excited he just wanted to go in! Of course, B2 wanted in as well!

Nearly time to go in…

The Dreamworks Experience Precinct, at completion, will have areas designated to the Madagascar, Kung Fu Panda and Shrek movies. We were invited to an evening event to checkout the Madgascar and Shrek elements of the precinct. (Kung Fu Panda land will be completed late in 2012 with brand new rides and attractions). So to start the evening off, we were taken to one of Dreamworld’s eating areas, where we munched on kebabs, sushi and PIZZA! And there were pretty helium balloons… It looked fabulous, the food was great and the staff were lovely! A great place for an event.

When we first walked into the DreamWorks Experience Precinct, I felt like a kid entering a candy store – so many things to choose from and it all looked so great! We walked firstly into the “Madagascar Madness” jungle area. So much effort had been put into all the small details, it looked fabulous! So bright and colourful for the kids, with everything themed. So where did we go first? Hubby and B1 went straight to play with the foam ball canons, of course! B2 and I waited patiently outside (you have to be over 12months to go in), but then it was my turn to go in with B1. He took me up to show me how it all worked, and didn’t want to leave….

After dragging B1 away from the foam ball canons, we went down into “Shrek’s Faire Faire Away”. Lucky hubby got to test out all the rides with B1, whilst B2 and mummy took photos. First, they hit the Puss in Boots Sword Swing. (How gorgeous does it look at night with the moon!)

Yes, even with his long legs hubby managed to squeeze into this one too! B1 loved being able to control moving up and down as they ‘flew’ around.

There were so many things to do… B2 was a bit impatient wanting for hubby and B1 to get off the Ogre-Go-Round… (again, kids have to be over 12 months, so he couldn’t go on and we had to wait outside).

There are lots of characters to meet…

… and so many places to get family photographs, or photos of the kids… (not that mine tend to look at the camera at all…)

There are shops to visit…

And even things that would amuse the ~~daddys~~ parents waiting for kiddies on the rides…

We finished off the night watching the Madagascar Live show. There was opportunity to sing along, as well as time for some of the kids to get up and participate in the show.

B1 wanted to stay for more, but with overtired B2 it was definitely time to head home. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening checking out the Dreamworks at Dreamworld experience, and would highly recommend it to others. Disclaimer: We were invited to attend the evening event for free, and during the dinner the kids were each given a giftbag. We were not obligated to write about the experience, however we had a fabulous time and I wanted to share! Thanks to Dreamworld for the fabulous family outing!

Review & Giveaway: Huggies Baby Wipes

If you’ve been a follower of my blog since the beginning, you’ll know that my boys are particularly talented with their toileting. I’ve tried many different products, including nappies, wipes, creams and nappysacks, in an effort to keep the mess to a minimum. Needless to say, when approached about writing a review of Huggies Baby Wipes I felt like it was right up my alley as they are a brand I’ve come to love.

What I love about Huggies Baby Wipes:

1) They are soft yet THICK! Super-thick infact. I have found this thickness to have several benefits:

– Yucky stuff doesn’t leak through the wipe,

– They gently remove lots of yuck in every wipe, and

– You can fold the wipe, rather than it naturally ‘scrunching’ because its so thin which I’ve found with some other brands of wipes. (If you’re a ‘folder’ and not a ‘scruncher’ like me, then you’ll really appreciate this!!) I’ve found this way I can get more wipes of the bottom out of every Huggies wipe and use less wipes overall – normally only one per nappy change.

2) They have just the right amount of moistness. The wipes are moist enough that you can get the yuck off your baby’s bottom, but not so moist that your baby’s bottom is left all wet and more likely to end up with nappy rash.

3) Their quality saves both $$ and the environment – because of they’re great quality I find I use less wipes for every nappy-change. Normally I can use just one Huggies wipe per nappy change, because of their ability to gently remove so much with every wipe. If I use more than one wipe, I know it’s been a real stinker of a dirty nappy!

4) Variety in pack types. There is a pop-up tub (pictured above), designed to be used with one hand, leaving the other hand for holding baby. There are then a variety of refill packs (80, 160 or 240) to refill either the pop-up tup or hard-case travel pack (as pictured). I LOVE this becaues its handy to throw the travel packs in your nappybag/handbag/car, but have the refillable tub at home.

5) The fragrances. Whilst the fragrance-free variety is great for using on hands and spills, I find both the Shea Butter and Cucumber & Aloe fragrances to be refreshing at nappy change time (though I think Cucumber & Aloe is my new favourite!).

6) They are useful for more than just nappy-changes. Whilst I have my refillable tub of Huggies Wipes at the change table, I also use Huggies wipes around the house and when we are out. We use them for sticky fingers, cleaning up spills on the floor, wiping baby vomit off our clothes and even cleaning the paint off my baby’s foot when we do his footprint! As well as carrying a travel pack in our nappybag, I also keep a travel packet in my car glove box, which has come in handy for spills in the car, cleaning messy fingers or when we accidentally run out in the nappy bag!

Babies Smell, Babies' Smell.

Babies smell. It’s a known fact. They can smell really bad from their stinky nappies (my boys are good at this!), or they can smell really good from their baby skin and/or baby products.

I’ve already done two posts on the my stinky boys out in public and at home. Whilst I love that natural newborn baby smell, this post is about the goregous smells of baby products.

With B1, my fav was the Huggies Bathwash (Lavender & Chamomile). Very sadly, it’s no longer available. In my own special fashion, I stocked up as soon as I found this out and we’ve only recently finished our last bottle (2yrs later). I was very disappointed. I even used it myself so that I could smell it all day long. I’ve had to be grown up about it though, and “get over it”. 🙂

It dawned on my recently that I had been collecting all the samples of baby products from my Bounty Bag, Baby expo’s etc, but not really using them. They were nicely stored in a basket in the top drawer of our change table chest. So when we finished our Huggies, I started using them, and found two amazing smells I wanted to share.

1) GAIA Bath & Body Wash – has a gorgesous orangy smell to it! I tried out the samples of both the body wash and moisteriser on B2, and ended up using the moisteriser more for my benefit! So relaxing 🙂 You can get information on requesting a sample here.

2) Aromababy Barrier Balm – with the sickness in our family, nappies to change, messes to clean up… I wash my hands a lot. The skin on my hands is feeling it, to the point where my hands started bleeding from cracking. So I started using this sample from my baby products. Verdict? I love it! I used it once, and kept using it for the smell. It’s working too. I put it on at night before going to bed so it doesn’t get washed off and I can lie there and smell it as I relax and go off to sleep. Creepy? It smells so good! 🙂
