In my travels in the past few days, I have done many many things, I have battled with 36 Ogres, eaten 13 crickets and sat on 1 ant. Did I mention my dad ate 53 hash browns? (well wasnt that an interesting start to a blog…pity I had to make something up to make it interesting though… ohh well)

One of the highlights of recents times in my learnings has been looking at what Jesus thought of scripture. For a man as great and important as Jesus to think so highly of Gods word is really quite exciting, because we have got the same scriptures to read!! And if the man that knows everything (Jesus), values something that we have access to, well it makes me want to jump up right now and read it!

Here is where I found some info on the topic.

  • When Jesus was being tempted in the desert in Matt 4:1-11, he used quotes from scripture as the final word on the temptation and didnt bother saying anything else, because it wasnt needed.
  • In Mark 12: 24-27 Jesus tells the Sadducees they are wrong and do not know the scriptures.
  • Jesus knew the scriptures had to come true, he says  “everything that is written about me in the Law of Moses and the prophets and the psalms must be fullfilled.” (Luke 24:44)

For Jesus, the scriptures came from God, they revealed spiritual truths about God, and the world, and about God’s character, and they could be trusted to come to pass at every point.

If a man of Jesus’ importance thought so much of a the text that I have, surely its worth studying harder and longer and more of!.

Well thats just my thought for today… I have put up the Q and A section of the site, and a little about Jesus. So if you havent heard much about him, then go and check it out…

I am off to uni..
