I just got word that there might be a reuniting of the Blogging Bro’s locations very soon, if not very soon then at christmas. This indeed will be a time to remember. I think that we will need to have some sort of celebration. Hmm… Yes, fireworks, lollies, bright lights, loud music, a clown, some dancing monkeys and 1 partridge in a pair tree….
……………………….The Start of the Party …………..
Or mabye it will go more like this…
Geoff: “Hi Jonny!”
Jonny: “G’day Geoff!”
Geoff: “What cha been up too?”
Jonny: “Not much”
……………………………The End of the Party………………………..
Recently I have been challenged by 1 Corinthians 10:31 which reads. “So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”. I was reading some more of John Piper, in a devotional with the days devotion entitled “Drinking orange juice to the glory of God“.
The thought is that in everything we do, according to 1 Corinthians 10:31, we should be doing it all to make God look good, or magnify him, or however you want to put it. Even the simple things like drinking orange juice. That thought of course poses the question, “How on earth do you drink orange juice to make God look good?!!”
Well, I think that simply acknowledging that the reason why you have orange juice to drink, the reason why you have a nice taste in your mouth, (and the reason why you have a mouth at all) is that God has given it to you has a gift.
The problem with the world is not that they seek pleasure, but that they dont seek it enough! God is ultimately better than the things he creates, to get stuck on the taste of orange juice is missing out! God is infinately better than his creation. It is acknowledging this in drinking orange juice, or putting on clothes, or in studying at university, that we glorify God.
“So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God”
mm… some orange juice sounds pretty good right about now…
