Thought to ponder:
When you breathe in, your tummy expands as it fills with air.
When you breathe out, the air leaves your tummy and thus it deflates.
Why is it then that when you need to squeeze past somewhere, you breathe IN ??
Being transformed by the renewing of our minds …
isn’t it more that the stomach sticks out when we breathe in because the diaphragm expands to give the lungs more room?
it pushes the organs down.
and then when we breathe out it’s the diaphragm releasing so everything kind of springs back into place?
just a guess…
I actually thought that if your stomach was filling with air when you breathe in, then you have REAL problems with your windpipe… don’t you mean your lungs? We actually bring out stomachs in when we breathe in, which cramps the amount of space our lungs have to expand. Did you know that we actually, when we are bubs, stick our stomachs out when we breathe in, and at some point we flip it around and pull our stomachs in when we breathe in – stupid, hey?
It’s not so much breathing in as it is sucking that gut in… 😀
you breathe in because otherwise you would die.
If you breathe in you know that if you get stuck in the small gap you will have some oxygen left in your body for you to survive long enough to get unstuck.
When you breathe in, you breathe in particles of everything around you.
So when you want to squeeze past something; if you breathe in big enough, you’ll inhale enough of the particles from the objects creating the small gap you need to sqeeze through, that the gap will be big enough for you to fit.
Well, that’s the sub-conscious hope atleast.
Now that was good.
I reckon- very clever.
