HAPPY 21st BIRTHDAY WENDY!! (For a little while ago…)

Last Sunday, 18th June, was our sister Wendy’s 21st Birthday! With the folks being down in Dapto for a spesh event, we had a kids brekkie! All 6 of us got together at the Eggins’ place for pancakes and ice-cream. OOOooohhh, yum! Choc-chip ice-cream for breakfast! It’s difficult to think of a better way to start the day… Apart from coldrock, or bacon&eggs, a macdonalds choc sundae, frikadellen mit Kartoffel Salat…

Last Monday, after coming off my first long weekend shift since starting fulltime work, I went out shopping (House of Target, Darell Lea Factory Outlet, RSPCA Shop & Fish shop) and to brunch with Jo & Catherine.

I never did get around to finishing the blogging on the holiday we took at Easter for our 2nd Wedding Anniversary, so here is the rest in one foul sweep.

As already mentioned, the first day we did our usual thing: we went shopping! Good ol’ Sunshine Plaza at Maroochydore. Then we went to hunt down dinner after checking into our accomodation. We had no cooking stuff at all except for a jug, so we got a loaf of bread with ham and pasta salad from the local IGA! Yumm…

Before going to the Ginger Factory, which I blogged about earlier, we visited the Eumundi Markets. HUGE!!!!!!!!!!! Think Southbank Markets x10!!!! Couldn’t believe it. There was even German Bratwurst! (Sausages)!! Yumm… and the coolest Birkenstocks!

We then visited the Big Pineapple and had difficulty parking.

(We didn’t know which park to choose! An empty carpark is a problem if you’re indecisive!) If you’ve never been inside a pineapple… this is what it looks like.

Hmm.. I think there was a day missing in there. Oh, thats right. On Tuesday we went to Noosa! And we shopped (surpise surprise), and I got a nice pair of black pants and a pink blouse for $2 each!!!! Go OP-Shopping!

Well thats about it. We came home early on Thursday cause I had to be at a work thingie at lunchtime… Was a fun few days… and I got through a few books too! 😀

Amanda’s 21st. I’m not sure if she’s family.

Geoff and I were invited to Amanda Lynch’s 21st, which was on last Saturday night. “Who is Amanda?”, I hear you asking. Well, the simple answer is she goes to our church.

Another answer could be that her dad is the brother of my husband’s dad’s sister’s husband. So what does that make us? She is my husband’s cousin’s cousin. Does that make her Geoff’s second cousin?

According to thecousin’s chart on wikipedia (the most reliable source on the Internet), NO! Geoff and Amanda are totally not related by any term “cousins” BECAUSE the Grandparents are not related.

Anyway, I couldn’t go to the party afterall because I had a massive assignment due (which I finally finished today, yay!). Geoff went and had a great night playing games and eating sweets. He even won me a bracelet! How thoughtful of him! 🙂

I’ve been waiting over a week for Geoff to blog… but since he hasn’t I’ll fill you in.

Saturday 29th of April, Geoff and I went to Mark’s 21st. It was a great “Aussie” night. We had to dress as our favourite nursery rhyme (difficult for me because I don’t know many – lucky Geoff thought of a costume!), and others were asked to come as sports fans, yobbos or in country&western gear.

There were plenty of festivities, including thong throwing & **toad racing**.

Geoff and I have had some interesting guests this week…

Thought to ponder:

When you breathe in, your tummy expands as it fills with air.

When you breathe out, the air leaves your tummy and thus it deflates.

Why is it then that when you need to squeeze past somewhere, you breathe IN ??

Holiday: Day Three – Freebie Day (Part One)

Being the huge Ginger Beer fans that we are, on Wednesday of our trip, we visited the Buderim Ginger Factory (free entry!! yeh baby!). We browsed the endless shops, took photos of the frogs, had cuddles with the gingerbread men and just generally ran a muck. There wasn’t that much to do, but we roamed about for around an hour before moving on to our next adventure…
