For those who know me, you will surely be aware of my love for Ikea Expedits. We have them in nearly everyroom in our house in some form or another. They store everything from toys, books and cd’s to sheets, towels, clothes and medicines. There are also some decorative canvases, giftwrapping things, scrapbooking stuff, filing and computer parts.

To do all this, I use a variety of different storage boxes. The cane & canvas ones bought from Ikea, as well as other large “giftbox” type from the discount stores. I also have quite a few rows of the boys’ nappy boxes used for the kids toys and clothes, but they aren’t really a “good” fit, leaving extra space both sideways and heightways.

During a recent decluttering and tidying frenzy, I made what I thought was a very exciting discovery: The newborn Huggies boxes are a near-perfect fit if you put them in sideways.

They aren’t the full-depth of the unit, but this means some extra storage behind. Perfect for our games! I was able to put hubby’s card games at the back, whilst putting all the smaller games (decks of gards, skipbo, rubiks cubes etc.) inside the box.

I then covered just the front side of the box with wrapping paper. I was going to do gold, but then thought that a different paper I had would match in with all the boys toy boxes a bit better.

I was so excited I took a few pics to show you 🙂
