Today I’m combining the remainder of “week 1” of the March to your Own Beat challenge by Laney at Crash Test Mummy.

Before I was a mum I used to…

1. laugh lots with my hubby and at my hubby

2. play touch football

3. be a youth group leader

4. scrapbook

5. stay up late reading

6. work in Child Protection

7. go shopping and hangout with friends a whole lot more

8. handwash all our dirty dishes (now dishwasher!)

9. spend my free nights or days doing housework with Lizzy & Darcy (Or Edward & Vivian).

10. sleep in as late as possible, only using an alarm when I had to

I’ve always regretted not…

Getting to know my grandparents more when I had the chance.

The most important lesson I have learned in my life so far…

Everyday and everything we have is a blessing – a gift – and to not take it for granted. We are to be good stewards of what we have. I’m still learning how to put this into practice on a daily basis!

The craziest thing I’ve ever done…

I’m not that crazy kinda girl, so my craziest would be something that others find normal. After getting home from an immediate family member’s wedding, I was chatting with a friend on facebook and dreamfeeding my baby. We decided it would be fun to meet in the city for pancakes… NOW! So ridiculously tired, we had pancakes (I had macadamia & caramel.. yum!) and giggled until after 2am. And then I drove home to get up to feed my baby again, and start a new day.

(My husband wants me to include the story of when we went to Ikea – for the third time in one day – and added to a display with broken thong and ran one-shoe-on-and-one-shoe-off through the rest of the store. But I won’t include that story… because I have a huge love for Ikea and thought it was wrong, though very funny. He has no regrets.)

I did…. even when people told me it couldn’t be done

My 40 goals. Late last year I started to attempt to achieve 40 goals in 40 weeks. At the time, I didn’t even believe I could do it, and told myself that I wasn’t going to finish, that I’d give up. That’s actually why I started my blog in the first place – making my goals very known to my friends so I would have some major public humiliation if I didn’t finish my goals (talk about some powerful motivation!).  I haven’t actually finished them yet – I’m at the 30 week mark – but I’m still going and I’m getting there. I’m starting to pull together ideas for a celebration (both on the blog and one with my friends/family) for when I finish in May.  I’m doing it, when I (me!) told myself it couldn’t be done!
