One of my very first posts on my blog was “I’m so tired that…“. With B2 once again/still waking up at crazy times during the night, and not getting to sleep in or many day sleeps… this trend has continued. I’m generally “tired”. So I thought it would be a good time for a “part 2” of this post.

Recently, I’ve been so tired that…

  • I grabbed my car key to take out the washing
  • I stained my white feeding shirt – twice!
  • I got dressed and put my pants on inside-out, but at least I had pants on
  • I used my “hair repair” cream instead of sunscreen all over my face (doh!)
  • I nearly used the “hair repair” cream instead of sunscreen a second time
  • and a third time.
  • I really have to move that hair-repair cream.

Whilst I write and can laugh about these moments caused by insanity sleep-deprivation, I’m finding that I’m extremely thankful in these circumstances for a number of reasons.

My boys both have no major health concerns, so have no reasons to be waking during the night indefinitely. This is only a phase. They are healthy, and that is SUCH a blessing. My heart goes out to all those families out there with sick children, for the 24hour care they require and the long and often heartbreaking journey to be travelled.

I am also thankful that during this time I have a husband who can help share the load. At times he has been away for work, or very busy with things, and I always look forward to when he comes home. I cannot imagine how difficult it would be to be a single parent. I am so thankful that I have a partner to share this battle journey with.

I could go on, but I’ve been fiddling & blogging since my boys went to sleep, and it’s now getting late. So rather than add to my sleep-deprived state, I’m going to be a sensible girl and go catch some zzzzz’s.

What crazy things have you done when you’ve been sleep-deprived?
